ultimately but he has to be sacked first thing in the morning especially after this result.

No way as he's got a contract until May 2019. We're not gonna be paying out yet another sacked manager especially considering Sam's improved us.

With the money we've spent, I'm not expecting us to play Champs League, but I'd expect decent quality football and for us to put up a fight against anyone in the league.

No one wanted Moyes back but he's been the only manager we've had since Joe Royle who could get us close to this ideal.

EDIT: notwithstanding Moyes' horribly-poor record against the Big 4.

Making mistakes isn't a sackable offence. Not learning from them is.

Sam won't be changing his game. It'll need a horrible run of results and us close or in the relegation zone for Mosh to consider sacking him.

He really hasn’t, he’s done what any half competent manager would have achieved. Basically picking points up against dog turd and rolling over for everyone else

He had us an embarrassing run of no shots on target and has parked the bus more times than arrive driver

By some stroke of luck we’re still in the top 10 but that doesn’t show the whole picture.

Thankfully those first 6 games has saved us because he’s nosed dived us into absolute gashness of embarrassment

..I still think he did terrific getting us to 27 points by Christmas. We went from 9/2 to 80/1 to get relegated. I agree that in many games we rode our luck but his points return was good.

I just think he’s now almost giving in on certain games and saving his side for others. That’s not good enough for Everton and it’s not good enough for the integrity of the league. This was an opportunity to show he’s not just a survivor but he’s playing survival tactics.

Wasn't it always thus? We always did our nut when Moyes flunked yet another Big 4 match. I've finally gone beyond that now and accepted our reality for what it is. We won't get relegated at least under Sam.

That false dawn of Martinez's first season has given us unrealistic expectations, to be fair.

At least Moyes for most of his tenure had us pushing up the table where we didn't belong at the time. Fat Sam doesn't have that to bank on.

None of this is Alladyces fault ultimately but

Um, what? Insert mind blown meme here.

He did, and I rate Moyes more than Allardyce at least 2002-2013-era Moyes, tho' he's doing alright at West Ham now.

The point is our owner himself said we expect to lose against the big clubs, and he brought in Sam to protect us against relegation. Sam's not gonna get sacked and is even doing a decent job considering his brief and expectations of our owner.

It's maybe a sad reality, but it's the reality.

I mean the general crapness this season. He walked into a right mess. But that doesn't excuse his appointment or his subsequent performance as a manager. He is literally the worst thing to happen to us. Hence he needs binning asap as in right now. Get the train home Sam here's your fare.

Get them both out immediately.

Give it Reidy and Bracewell till the end of the season.

Personally I wanted Unsworth to be given it on a perm. I think we would've eventually settled and ended up with a similar points tally to what we'll get under Sam, except the games will be a little more entertaining plus we'd have had that warm glow of knowing we've got a Blue in the hotseat.

Alas...

Whats the point in appointing a new manager?

The problem is the gutless players, wait till May, put them all up for sale, sack everybody below Moshiri and start again.
Because I would fire Walsh and give him full control. He was a DOF before.

Hiring him now gives him a chance to review the squad and prepare for the summer.

Shame Lookman is already gone.

can't really disagree with most of your points - walsh first to go. So if Allardyce is sacked now.....who replaces him? And please don't say Silva ? The board should also be held responsible for their total incompetence - I assume you agree ?
