Don't mistake the post for me liking him, or me wanting him to stay. I just think in the grand scheme of things there are others more deserving of your anger, Walsh, Moshiri, Kenwright, Elstone, all people that have overseen the gradual destruction of the club for a far greater period than Allardyce.
I know mate. I've said a few times that Allardyce being our manager is a symptom of the problems at the club, not the cause of them. Doesn't stop my feelings for the guy though. I didn't like him before he came here and having to put up with seeing and hearing him almost every day has just made it worse.

I think with Walsh it's a bit different. I don't think he's a dislikeable person per se and he isn't in the limelight very often. Plus I don't think anybody really knows what he does or what to blame him for. So he's a bit non descript really. Most fans I guess don't want him here, but don't really hate him either.

Elstone on the other hand is a complete bell and frequently treats the fans with disdain. The sooner he's gone from our club the better. Same with cuddly Bill. If you went on the Dixies thread the other night you'd have seen some juicy insults that even our illustrious manager doesn't often have to undergo.

Mosh? This summer is the acid test for me. Not overly impressed with what he's done so far but he's got a chance to put all that behind him this summer. If he sticks with Allardyce as manager, then it's clear that his ambitions don't match the fans and he doesn't deserve to be the trustee of our club. Think he'll get his fair share of hate/anger if this happens.

If a new manager comes in and outlines his vision for the club and the style of play he wants to adopt and then he buys players and uses tactics to suit that vision then I would suggest most fans would be patient.
I would rather be 7 th and playing attractive football with the feeling there is a plan in place than watch Pickford launch missiles 20 times every game and still be 7th
7th is the highest we can ever aspire to under Allardyce due to expected defeats

Finishing 7th in this dross filled League should not be hard for Everton.

Nor quite frankly would it be any great achievement.

This league is littered with clubs which aspire to nowt more than to survive the season.

Every single one of them from 7th placed Burnley down to Stoke on the bottom, and that will very much include us if Allardyce is allowed to stay in his job.

If this mindset is allowed to take hold at our club then relegation within the next few seasons is a distinct possibility, if not a certainty.

Because the teams which think like that are all just sat in a line awaiting their turn to go through the trapdoor.

You may have missed my point
If we get a new manager and he outlines a vision of how he wants us to play and buys players to play that way then I’ll accept 7th because hopefully we will see progress and a plan to get us into the top 4/6 and beyond.
What I won’t accept is Allardyce’s stlye of football getting us 7th because that’s the best we could ever hope for under him

Not missing your point at all.

I was just reinforcing it by pointing out we should not be looking over our shoulder and that the best way to climb higher is to hire a coach with a more aggressive, attack minded outlook.

Dour football of the type Sam plays eventually leads to the Championship......as Stoke and Baggies have just illustrated perfectly after years of Pulis, Hughes and their ilk.

Agreed

He’s hardly going to say I’ve no input into pre season or transfers as I will be binned off after the West Ham game ,
Who has he had talks with about transfers? Brands is coming this week according to Dutch press and I very much doubt he even spoken to Sam let alone discussed transfers, as he was unsure if he’s coming or not

I watched the Sunday supplement and they said it about Stoke, WBA and Southampton. That they wanted to play more attacking football and that’s why there going down....not there terrible buys

They've been at it on talk sport again today. Jim the helmet white and chums, giving it the "oh he's terrible Allardyce, imagine ONLY getting to 8th in the league..."

Not surprising really that we're now seen as a small club, when those in charge do nothing to change that opinion.
