The Blues boss insists he has overseen the squad playing “proper football” since he replaced Ronald Koeman at the end of November.

“The type of football we’ve produced isn’t rubbish, we’ve produced proper football in terms of what we’ve tried to achieve.

“The past reputation is not the reality if you ask the players, so you look at the football we’ve played since I’ve been here.”

Everton have picked up 19 points under Allardyce, winning five of their 13 league games while scoring 15 goals.
Defeats to Bournemouth, Manchester United, Spurs and Arsenal have seen the Blues ship 13 goals with Allardyce adding: “Some has not been so good because of the result, certainly the Tottenham and Arsenal ones were unacceptable, but the football we try and play suits the players we have here, suits the system we have which is part of their job and I’ve never played the same way at any football club I’ve ever been at.

“Unfortunately, you have to live with the past sometimes, you can’t get rid of it. If people have blinkers on, I can’t take them off.”

I`m sure if you looked back at clubs like Newcastle and West Ham, you`ll find similar thinly veiled attacks on the fans.

We`re in the last quarter of the season, so he needs to go on the offensive now to start spinning, to secure his tenure for next season.

The man is repulsive.

Do you mean you have stopped going cos of this manager? Or presumably you stopped going when Koeman and Martinez made us into a mess? Please yourself of course, but I would watch Everton if Donald Duck was made manager. It might be a long time before you get back to supporting Everton if you are waiting for a top manager to come. We are not an attractive proposition. We still get full houses but might have a struggle filling the new ground unless something amazing happens, i.e. we get an owner with mega billions.

Simply stopped going when Allardyce was made the manager, hate the guy, infact detest him more than anyone and that was long before he was even considered to be a manager of Everton. Not waiting for a top manager to come along as I do not think it will happen as we are a bit of a mess. I just want someone who is not a cheating lying scumbag who will show a bit of passion not like good old fatsam. Btw agreed with Martinez and Koeman, what started off well with Martinez soon turned sour and as for Koeman...just utter crap.

Correct team selection from the gravy man today so at least that's something. The other side of the coin will be how he utilises the subs as the game develops.
