Sam Allardyce Explains Cenk Tosun Situation

Feels increasingly like we're setting players up to fail.

that is exactly it, and its been going on for ages

Look at Niasse - rumours leak out of the club he was crap right after he signed, given ten minutes here and there without real support and then dropped for weeks afterwards, the disgraceful way in which Koeman treated him and then hawking him around to anyone that would have him at a loss. Then he ends up ambling into the starting XI and the goals which are all that is keeping this dire season from being a disasterous one, and thats despite still being dropped after most games.

Similar things happened with Deulofeu, with Robles last season and is happening with Vlasic, Holgate, Lookman, Davies and now Tosun. I'd even add Keane to the list as well tbh.

That is absolutely crazy, he obviously told the club that he wanted someone that could add goals, so we spent the best part of £30m on a player before realising that he may not be ready for this league?

This club is done.

Tbf striker is absolutely the hardest position to fill.

Having said that this guy is a total joke and I revise my prediction to say he will never score a goal in an Everton shirt.

Ready made excuses.

So tosun/klassen/sandro haven't immediately adapted to the premier league so the solution is to drop them and give them hardly any game time and then ponder why they still haven't adapted to the league?

Seriously?

This club is a joke.

But it's fine, no it is. We just keep playing the ones who are deemed good enough and we can keep losing and dropping points because that's the Everton way. Not buying talent and actually playing them .

And for what it's worth, maybe tosun might be more impressive in a team that doesn't have 7 defensive players and hoof ball tactics. Just a thought .....

Sam Allardyce Explains Cenk Tosun Situation
cenktosun-1024x461.jpg

Sam Allardyce has sought to explain why new £27m signing Cenk Tosun has not been included in his starting eleven for the games with Leicester City and Arsenal this week.

Allardyce: “He's had service to him that he's not held up and he's found it a bit of a struggle at this level because of the pace and the physicality of the game

"So his service hasn't been too bad but his hold up play hasn't been like it was at Besiktas so that's why he's not starting the games at the minute because he's finding it tough going like every player does, particularly when they come in January.

"I said we wanted goals, he scored goals in the Champions League and with Besiktas but may not hit the ground running for us. He hasn't done that yet, I'm sure he will do eventually.

"I'm more concerned about the other players than I am about Cenk. I'm more likely to feed him slowly and give him a bit more time over the next few weeks and hopefully by the end of the season he starts games."
Hahaha
