little curly alan ball

Player Valuation: £70m
Although there was a small piece in last night's Echo re; this , I'd said it at the Stoke game meself .
When did Ref's stop casing young Marouane ???
Last year he only had to look like putting in a tackle ,- sheeeiiit , we were thinking of dropping him for Anfield , before he was out anyway- for chrissakes ; to get booked and most times we'd take him off because of it .

However , though he's still picking up the odd yellow ,there doesn't seem to be the same focus as last year .
Why is this ???
Where they targetting him last time ???
Has he changed his method of tackling - which I doubt - ???

This was a Big Deal , last term , yet now he's Snow Goddamn White !!!
I'd wager yet another anti - Everton thing - AJ's diving , Big Man etc .

What say you ??? - And No Screech hating pls - You know who you are ( Toc' . )

Nah, his tackling has improved big time IMO. He's not stapping at heels as much, using his body to get in front then using his masshoosive legs to get the ball. He's done a fair amount of ball winning this season IMO.

Love Felli me like. He can upset defenders and hard-men of footy no end by just being big, awkward, and loving his elbow weapons. They hate him illustrated by Shawcross the rat on the weekend.

Yeah basically he has Stopped his awful attempts at tackling where he tries to win the ball from behind but just ends up fouling the player. Shouldnt of been booked on sunday either.

Agreed , Ken .

All here.

Marouane Fellaini believes he's finally seen the back of his disciplinary problems, despite picking up a bizarre yellow card against Stoke City on Sunday.
The midfielder was booked for unsporting behaviour by referee Andre Marriner in the one-all draw at Goodison even though most would disagree with the decision.
“I don’t think I deserved the booking today, everyone could see that,” Fellaini told evertonTV, “but it was only my second yellow card this season.
That's in stark contrast to last season when the Belgian picked up twelve bookings in the top flight.
Fellaini now hopes he's adapted to the Premier League to avoid his name appearing in the ref's book so many times.
“I haven’t changed my game, he added. "I’m still exactly the same player, but maybe I’ve become a bit wiser and maybe the refs know me a bit more now too.
“What I have learned is that I used to pick up a lot of yellow cards when I was running back trying to stop teams on the counter attack. I would foul players trying to get back into the game, but I have cut that out.”

It's not really a case of improving his tackling, he'll never be what you'd call a natural tackler. He just making better decisions, jockeying and holding his position instead of sticking a bit long leg in and being rash.

He's become more disciplined which is good to see.

It also has to be a function of him playing his second year in the Premier League. The refs are getting familiar with him and are getting used to his tackling - tall, lanky, somewhat goofy and with the big hair - he was an easy target up front.

It's also a bit of education by the refs trying to get him to play a little more within himself.

Either way, good progress by Fellaini.

Combination of getting more savy, Moyesy media manipulation and adjusting to the pace of the legue IMO.

Hes in good company too - remember the days when Cahill would get a yellow every game - i think hes charmed refs over the years with his antics.

Get a haircut. NEVER!!!!

Playing through the wisdom teeth pain (Requiring surgery) to make himself available for selection when we are already thin on numbers is to his great credit. Is it the problem that cost him weight over the summer related?
