Saha: From Sicknote to Bobby Banging em in

Nah, Yak wont go anywhere. Too settled I think. Arry has his love-boys in Defoe and Crouch so he wont look for strikers.

Saha isnt reliable enough fitness wise but is a machine when fit and able. Best of both really but Yak would be more favourable in terms of keeping for fitness.

Were not ready for the Yak yet apparently:

Everton boss David Moyes feels that Yakubu contributes less to the team than other strikers at the club.

"If we can get the ball to Yak in the box, we know that his history is of scoring goals," said Moyes. "But maybe at the minute, we are not quite ready as a team that has that kind of player.

"By that I mean we need our centre forwards to contribute in other areas and in different ways.

"Certainly, though, if there is someone you want the ball to fall to in the box, I think everyone would say Yak is that man."

I would say thats harsh myself

I think he's talking about having the fitness to lead the line really, chase lost causes and put defenders under pressure. Yak just isn't at that point at the moment. Not that he's a 'runner' anyway but as a frontman you've got to be fairly mobile.

I've seen Moyes praise Yakubu's all round game quite a few times. He knows how good he is, just telling us all what the majority of us know, he's still quite a bit off in terms of match fitness.

Possibily mate, he looked sharp against Hull and the pass for the Gos was vintage Yak, but i understand he is prob not ready ready for two game sin a week - nice to have the luxary for a change.

I don't think we'll see him properly for atleast a month or so, especially with Saha and Jo chipping in with the goals. He'll be playing reserve and cup games and coming on for Saha in the League. Building his fitness, getting his sharpness.

It's a serious injury, step by step really, I'm sure Yak knows that.

Yakubu's a quality footballer, underrated by alot of Evertonians. Jo and Saha link up play is mostly central, the Yak more's a left flank man, he loves drifting out the the left and linking up with Pienaar and Baines.

It makes sense mate, i just miss him to be honest. Much of how people judge him is on his goals he is so much more then that though - an excellent footballer.

Toxteth is right. I watched this interview and Moyes was talking about fitness required from his strikers in the way this team is set up. The reguritating hack is a bad ted for suggesting Moyes is saying Yak "does less than the others".

I think the vast majority recognise Yak's excellent link play on the deck (surprised me at first I'll admit) and physical presence in the final third as well as his obvious goalscoring ability. When he signed I remember some folk saying he'd never fit into our work ethic but I don't think anybody would call him lazy now. Love the Yak, lets hope for plenty more of these this season.

Honestly, I think he's one of the best passers we have, arguably the best. The amount of times I've seen him pick the ball up on the left and switch the play with a long, hollywood pass.

He did it on his debut against Bolton, surprised me to be honest. He picked a Alonso esque pass to Pienaar.

Superb, sums the Yak up for me.

In other words, Yak plays much better when we play football on the deck with players near him than he does as a lone striker in a 4-5-1 and needing a telescope to find a blue shirt.

He's a footballer, not a steamroller with a ballseye for 40 yard artillery bombardment painted on the back of his neck. But, yes, we need patience before he goes hurtling back into the side, no use playing when he's short of match sharpness - he'll just get a load of flak for "underperforming".
