To be fair, the writer understands modern football culture and knows when a sacking might be deserved/imminent.
Does he though? While clubs love firing managers there aren't many managers who get fired this close to the end of the season while sitting in pretty much the same league position as they usually finish.

Managers get fired for cup defeats as well as not improving on league position (tho' that alone is justification for some).

I don't want him gone either. Or Fellaini.

I want this fecking Board to get here arse in gear and back him, and get the ground issue resolved, or get the hell out of here.

I fear Bruce/Hughes/Coyle/Allardyce/any other no-mark like that.

If he did go it had to be in the summer, parting ways with dignity. Sacking him with 10 games left would be foolish.

I still think we have something to prove, if by some miracle we do pull off some of these away wins then Moyes might stay.
Our expectations are higher than they ever have been under Moyes but we are performing to our limit, as a club and as a team.
Is that Moyes's fault? Not at all. Could we have won a cup? Possibly. Should our away record at places like Arsenal, Liverpool etc be better? Yes.

But it's hard to criticise Moyes's long term achievements, his transfer dealings have mainly been brilliant. One of the main reasons why I want him to stay past the summer with the new money coming in.

It's a massive achievement for a club like Everton to survive in the Premiership all this time. Without Moyes, we'd go back to our lowly status as a middling lower-division club.

And you know this how? Why is it that most people believe Moyes is the only person who can get us to the heady heights of 6th or 7th? Why would another manager not be able to replicate or even better what Moyes has done? Dont get me wrong Moyes has done some great things in his time at the club but he is not infallible. His inability to change tactics during a game when its not working against lesser opposition being just one. His negative tactics at home against lesser clubs, his extreme caution in blooding youngsters when first teamers are dead on their feet. How do we not know whether a different manager whoever it maybe, can take what Moyes has built and expand and better certain aspects. Change is scary and there are always worries that things wont be the same again. but then again they may heaven forbid just be better.

Then there must have been one manager in the last 10 years you can put forward who has done as good a job?

And when Moyes got the job i dont think there were to many Evertonians jumping for joy that we had managed to snatch away Preston North Ends young manager. Each managerial position is different so what someone does at one club doesnt necessarily mean they will do the same at another. Moyes has had the luxury of pretty much running the club and playing staff etc as he sees fit for the whole time has has been here. How many other managers can say that? With most clubs there are a myriad of people/politics in place which wouldnt allow such freedom. Maybe just maybe whoever comes in can thrive on that just as Moyes seemed to for a good few seasons.

I remember an overwhelmingly positive reaction to Moyes being appointed.

You have to balance the "freedom" Moyes has had with the comparative lack of finance.

I think if he is even backed slightly with this tv money then Everton would be vastly improved. I want him to stay and oversee transfers with a large influx of cash and I think he has earned the right to do it tbh. Right now a lot of people see him as the devil incarnate for whatever reasons, but he is still the best man for the job beyond this season for me.

He's by no means the devil incarnate but I doubt he can move us on, with or without the TV money. I don't know if anyone else can move us on either, but I think he has major doubts in his mind as to whether he can be a winner with Everton and those doubts transmit themselves to the players, so they don't perform when it really matters and it becomes a vicious circle.

There's only one way to break that circle.

I agree in the transfer market we have pretty much got very good value for money from Moyes, however from a tactical perspective i would say we have been left wanting which is why i make my point that change isnt always necessarily bad, especially if the new manager is given the time and freedom that has been lavished on Moyes.

Dont get me wrong as i have said before Moyes has done many good things during his time at Everton, it just seems that the whole club/manager/players/fans have gone stale and its time for a freshen up for both the club and Moyes.

I wonder how much compensation or other stupid fee we would have to pay out for sacking him? Mangaers usually get a big pay off for being offed before the end of their contract. If it is stupid money for the sake of a couple of months, then don't even bother.
