The missus is looking for some new wheels and wants to buy an SUV. Such a saturated market, does anyone have one or can recommend/poo poo one?

Just make sure she can drive the thing. I live in the country and from my experience women lose all spatial awareness when they get behind the wheel of one of them horrors.

"no, you don't have to force me into the hedge, love, there's another two feet of road to your left FFS".

And if you don't live in the country there's absolutely no reason to buy one. Land Rover or nothing. None of those are capable off-road vehicles.

I'd say none of them - get an old ex-forces Landrover....It will go anywhere and last forever. If I really had to pick one of the above I'd probably go with the Nissan Dualis (Qashqai in the UK) but It would have to be the 4-wheel drive diesal variant.

Yours is converted to LPG so there is good reason to run it, but the Jeep 4.0 is a terrible engine tat just sucks the gas down.

Macca, the Kia (or the Hyundai version) are great choices. Reliable, good economy, well equipped and both come with superb warranties. Also you can't go wrong with a Honda or a Toyota.
