The England thing is a myth, he couldn't play for England at all, the only reason he played for England Schoolboys was because he was at an English school. He's as Welsh as they come.

Incredible achievement but it makes me wonder if he had been involved in a major international team with over 100 caps to his name (which he would have got) would he still be playing at this level. Surely missing those additional games has helped him along. Fantastic player.

After that game when he did just that at anfield I was working with both mancs & scousers and the next day the united lads sung that song insistently

don't care what he's done for utd tbh, 64 wales caps, tut tut. Bale is showing him what Giggs should have done for his country
 
Regardless of his behaviour in private, he's been the ultimate professional on the pitch. That seems a common feature throughout all of the 'Fergie Fledglings' from that era, as the Nevilles, Scholes, Beckham and Giggs were all very good professionals, regardless of their talent.

For me, that's the biggest attribute Phil has, as he's not really a very talented player, but as a role model for getting the most out of whatever talent you do have, he's one for our younger players to learn from.
