I don't think the backline changes. I am a bit afraid of KP Boateng on the right side as well. But Bornstein is the quickest LB we have...Bocanegra really settled the defense down in the middle and I think it would be a huge gamble to take him out of that spot.

Midfield stays the same as well. Only way it changes is if Dempsey moves up top, then probably Feilhaber gets a start on the left or right. Edu was good in his tackling and is probably the best match for Bradley at this point.

I doubt Herc gets another start, he was gassed by HT and was subbed. That's a bit of a liability, he needs to come off of the bench. I really like how he played when he was in there, though. You can say that he didn't link up play well and be correct, but the man is a poacher. Plus, he puts in a shift defensively, he gives his all and plays for the shirt.

It will likely be Buddle or Findley. I would look for Buddle to play more centrally, allowing Altidore to get out in wide spaces.

I liked the move for Bornstein. Bornstein gets alot of flack for USMNT *fans* because supposedly he's Bradley's pet. However against teams that are inferior to us he's always brings something extra going forward and can even nick a goal or two sometimes.

I thought Gomez played better than Buddle, didn't notice Gomez gassed either. Though he probably is better off the bench. Start Buddle up front this time I guess. Findley no way. Ghana isn't going to bring up the fullbacks like England did. His pace won't beat anyone.

Feinhaber will always be a guy who comes off the bench. He's never really been effective as a starter.

I actually thought this was Donovan's worst game since the 3-0 CC drubbing that Brasil gave us (everybody was terrible that match), thank god he did his best Dempsey imitation.

I still like Clark over Edu.

While Dempsey is a player who does nothing for 89:55 and in the other 5 seconds does something great, Demerit is similar to him. Only Demerit is solid for a good 89:55 and does something gastly in the other 5 sec.

PLEASE PLEASE! Bob Bradley ban all your players for shooting on goal during free kicks. It hasn't happened this world cup and that's not going to change. I'm suprised that no team has really figured this out yet.

I was uncomfitable with the Bornstein pick. But to be fair after a couple of ugly early moments he seemed to be what we needed yesterday. I fear lack of games has Gooch on the ropes. Good athlete but looking like he is in preseason. The US defense has played remarkable well under the circumstances except for the early 30 minutes. Bob Bradley is a smart man and very underrated. With the firepower the US has but the finished product lacking I can see another 1-0 nail biter to the Stars & Stripes.

Bornstein has deserved all the flack he was gotten, be fair. He was awful. He really put on a performance yesterday, though, full credit due. Bocanegra was exposed a few times at LB against England, he just isn't very quick.

Donovan didn't see much of the ball, but he was man-marked the entire match. It really opened up a lot of space for Dempsey, Altidore and Bradley to make runs through the middle and out wide. It also took Belhadj out of the game for the most part. There were acres of space in the center of Algeria's midfield.

I think it speaks to Donovan's maturity that he didn't try to force it or take up others' spaces. It was clear that the man-marking wasn't working, the US created a ton of chances without Donovan's direct input.

Feilhaber's problem is that he doesn't really have a role on the team. He is nifty around the box with his feet and can strike a ball. But you can't start him in the center of midfield with both Donovan and Dempsey bombing forward, so he's really only usefull when the US needs to press for a goal. Feilhaber was tried in the Dempsey/Donovan role in the Turkey match and was badly exposed defensively.

You can't play him against Brasil or any top 20 team but when Bornstein plays against lousy teams in qualifying he has always been decent/good. He's like our Osman, not great but often useful.

Time for payback against Ghana for that [Poor language removed] penalty given against Onyewu in '06.

Still steaming about that.

Could be a tough game but I have a feeling if our back line keeps their-selves together for the first 15 min and get organized I think we could create a ton of chances. Hoping for goals by Bradley, Dempsey, and Donovan.

thinking our backline will be the same as last game (can't argue with a shutout), sorry gooch. We will need to absorb some pressure in the beginning since Ghana is gonna be fueled by a whole contintent. If we handle the pressure (first 15min sounds about right)... we will start to see our chances.

This is gonna be another tough match. They all are. This one is gonna be tougher.

Come on Timmy !!! Pitch another shutout.

best wishes to usa, i was hoping you would give us the easy route to the semi but you deserved it, infact bad refing meant you were almost denied it.

tough games are ten a penny now but it's not uncharted territory for you.

rise to it and i am sure you can do it.
