Where's the evidence for your claim, though?
There's no proof because it's not needed, it's simple logic.

People taking drugs = a chance of addiction.

Legalization = more people taking drugs

More people taking drugs = more addiction.

Probably a lower percentage of drug users would be addicted than when it is illegal, but still a higher number of people would be addicted.

Would you rush out and try heroin if it was legalised tomorrow, then? Or anyone you know?

FWIW I think decriminalisation is the way to go, not full legalisation, but I don't think it necessarily follows that legalisation means a total free for all and a rise in use and addiction. Legalisation would come with proper regulation.

I wouldn't.

Go back to the original post, I said more would, not everyone would. For that you can look at the Prohibition in the U.S, though clearly times are very different. Did a lot of people drink alcohol when it was illegal? Yeah. Did a lot more drink when it was legal? Yep.

Oddly enough, I'm not. British spelling =/= American spelling. You're British, why Zpell it like you're not?

Let's give an example of a UK based website using it. Like the Government. https://www.gov.uk/get-document-legalised .

^ U.S site, means feck all. Btw, I'm not saying legalisation isn't a word, I'm saying the two spellings can be used interchangeably.

Besides, what does FTY stand for again?

Portugal legalised drugs like marijuana, cocaine, ecstasy and heroin in 2001. No longer an offence to carry small quantities for personal use. Since then the number of drug users has fallen, especially in the 18-24 age group (usually the most likely for drug use). There has also been a reduction in the number of drugs related deaths and diseases, including HIV and Hepatitis. They combined the loosening of anti-drug legislation with a significant increase in support programmes for drug users including prevention, treatment, harm reduction and social reintegration programmes. It is this combination that seems to have been successful.
