I don't think Barnes had much to do with the result, he might have been a bit strict on the Irish prop but at the same time the yellow to the NZ half back was also potentially harsh, but understandable.

Don't think he's biased against Ireland as Dave is inferring either, think he's a pretty decent ref these days. Owens always had an incredibly soft spot for the All Blacks and McCaw in particular.

Ireland s*** the bed every worldcup.. we've gone into the WC twice as the Number 1 ranked side in the world and still can't pass the last 8...
The next time I hear someone say that Rugby test matches aren't friendlys I'll have to be restrained.. We beat NZ in 2 out of 3 friendlys in NZ it appears they learned from it where as in Ireland we made documentarys about it.
If SA had a kicker we'd have lost that one too...

England's coach is where it all falls apart for them. In any previous year you would say this is a walkover to a semi but now you just don't know and even if they do make it like they should there is little chance they progress past that.

I wanted Ireland very much to win, but on the night the All Black's were resilient and clinical.
Let's see how England play today. They should be confident but they must turn up.
