This will probably haunt me but I think next week is the biggest game in Irish rigby history. If we beat SA I think we'll win the WC.

That’s a big statement! I wouldn’t worry too much about the SA game , if Ireland lose then it’s likely they’ll play France in the 1/4 Final , given Ireland’s poor record in previous RWCs this then becomes their biggest game . They’ve shown though that in big games they can beat France and the All Blacks .This will probably haunt me but I think next week is the biggest game in Irish rigby history. RWC s have all kinds of turning points. If a team has a winning momentum it’s great,other teams improve as the tournament goes on , others go backwards after a hard game or injuries to key players. So many unknowns! The obvious downside of losing to SA is that their last game v Scotland becomes a must win game for both sides . On paper Ireland would win , but a rampant Scotland having a last hurrah are a dangerous team. Intriguing stuff, with similar “ what ifs” arising in other Groups !

I'd rather Avoid France.. they aren't going to lose a game in the WC, Ireland V France Final for me.

I agree. New Zealand would be better for us. We'd be underdogs - but we know we can beat them (and they know it too), and we'd have the support of the locals.
I think that will happen anyway, as I think it'll be a South Africa - France final.
