I take it you didn't read that I used to play rugby?

You?

(Don't like dr who btw)

I blame Mikey for the dr who thread to be honest, I played for our school, but to be honest none of us had a clue what we were doing, if we played a school who was into rugby we didnt even know were the ball was half the time, but made up for it with lots of illegal hits.

I did play a game this summer for pub in italy, there were lots of south africans in the area and they really knew what they were doing, was a good laugh though and a great night after

I still like watching the internationals, and went the lions tour, but it was all too friendly, even with there being ale in the grounds, no one gets moody, and there is no one more annoying than a group of rughy fans who think you want to hear their posh banter as loudly as possible as wank each other off in the bogs and throw up on each other for their rugby bantz
It's proper moody in South Africa when I watched. I do agree that the stupid "banter" detracts from incredibly fiercely contested internationals, but the same can be said of cricket at the moment.

yeah true, it seems to sit better at the cricket, long boozy day, cant stay angry that long, but for 80 mins of people smashing each other up, you want to be pumped for that, I found it a little flat compared to atmosphere at footy games

It's not as tribal as footy because there just isn't the same amount of bad blood. That may well come with more regular history now in the pro era and fiercely contested leagues. France v England tends to be quite narky still.
