Ruddy

In tonight's Echo, Roberto Martinez has said he wants "four new players - one for each position". Ruddy would be an excellent addition in the GK position (again).

Proper competition - Jan Mucha was a good shot stopper, but I found all other aspects of his game, technically, to be lacking somewhat.

I found Mucha to be as good as if not better than Howard.

I'd pretty much describe T-How that way.

He'd be daft to go to Chelsea. I don't think it will happen anyway.

Based on his form for Norwich though if we could get him back as Howard's replacement then I'd be happy with that.

Sadly, Ruddy is beyond our price point for a new 'keeper. Sad, because we shouldn't have let him go IMO.

That said, there's nothing wrong whatsoever with Tim Howard. It's not a priority area at all.

Mucha was a shocking keeper. One superb game shouldn't mask that. He was a poor mans Barthez. Robles for £600k makes sense to me. Ruddy is just too expensive for us at the moment.

Why would Chelsea want him? They've already got Cech and by the time he goes Courtouis will be more than ready to fill his boots if he isn't already.

Ruddy left us because he wanted first-team football. I'm sure he'll be flattered by Chelsea's interest but I can't see him wanting to replace Turnbull as their regular bench-warmer. Considering Mignolet cost in the region of £10m it could be a bargain price, but I'm pretty sure he'd want to be no. 1.

Would love Ruddy back.

Also, goalkeepers are all about confidence - and Mucha got better as he got more games, and imo he looked very good - wouldn't mind too much if he was our keeper next season.

Chelsea are going to sign a sub keeper that will NEVER be there number one, for in and around the same net spend that Everton have had in the last decade.

He shouldn't go there but he probably will, trying to convince himself he can displace Cech when he hasn't got a chance.

We should sign him as our number one.. not just as competition. Better than Howard, should never have let him go.

If we didn't then he may not have progressed like he has done at Norwich. Its the first team experience that has improved him - and he would never have been at a good enough level to replace Howard in the first place.
