We've sent players the other way too, we've players out on loan now and some of our 1st teamers cut their teeth on loan, so works both ways. It's part of the model now and it's about using it to your advantage.
Without a loan system a lot of very talented young players would be sitting on the bench or playing reserve football.
I think their should be a 'use them or lose them' policy introduced by the FA/ PL, which would do more to help young players than the quota system.

It's the modern game. You have to look short term and for this season. These loan players may earn us enough money to buy better players. And having seen Mourinho's comments on Lukaku there is a small possibility of doing business there. Sell Baines, but Lukaku.
