I hope that there are some old rockers out there who remember Roy Wood from Wizard. Now I'm not a rock fan, much more reggae / R&B, but I heard Roy sing a song about Cowboys (OK, don't laugh at the back) and it was one of those songs you hear and it hits you. I think he's one of Britains best ever songwriters.

Does anyone know the proper name of the song. All I remember is that its about cowboys, the West, I think its about if he was a cowboy. OK, soundling silly, but I hope others know what the hell it was.

As I also said, not really into Rock / Pop and I haven't compiled a list of songs I'd go out of my way to listen to, but here are a few;

Oasis - Wonderwall (perhaps the only song from this Beatles tribute band that I liked)
Nervana - Smells like teen spirit
Pavaroti - Nessum Dorma (nobody else should EVER be allowed to record this song)
Aqua - Barbie Doll (I love this, its so silly)

Anyway, any help would be grateful.

think the song your on about is wild west hero, ELO, and jeff lynne wrote that. the only other one i can think of is "down home town" ,again, ELO.

Thanks. Actually found it. THe song was by Electric Light Orchestra (ELO) and I believe that Roy had left by then. The song is called Wild West Hero. Any songs you like that you don't normally listen to?

Beyonce that gal has a fine set of pipes on her and a nice arse lets be fair so yeah i'll admit to listening to her

I like rock/ metal as well as trance, pop punk and just good old fashioned pop and r n b especially old school stuff. I'm a complete all rounder. I'm not a massive fan of extreme/death/doom whatever metal but if its good its good. Listened to Arch Enemy- Nemesis the other day and I was like wow! What a chorus. Fit lead singer aswell. Too bad she's completly possessed by satan himself.

Right, can this be an i heard this song but ive no idea what its called thread?

it is?

right, I heard this rockish sort of song i really liked beards ago, and abit of the chorus goes

"...It's not a Tri-ang-le..." and the band may be called Iota, or Eyeota or something.

That's all I got.

Listen to Definitely Maybe mate, it's brilliant sounds nothing like The Beatles. Big fan here but Wonderwall is one of my least favourite Oasis songs. They've done much better stuff. Noel's acoustic version is good but the original is hugely over played.

In terms of artists I listen to outside my usual genres..... Johnny Cash. Not really into country music but what a legend.
