Roy Hodgson retiring

Will be interesting to see how Palace get on without him. He's given them a lot of stability and they never looked in serious relegation trouble under him. Hiring Frank Lampard to replace him would be a disaster IMO.

Didn't mind 'Woy'. Had a more than respectable career managing teams at the top level without ever quite winning major honours outside of Scandinavia.

But normally did the job he was asked to do. Liverpool was a disaster for him and England was dissapointing. But the former it seems like the squad decided they disliked his style and, well, England lol. Its rare anyone succeeds.

Happy retirement Woy. The Proto-Moyes I suspect in terms of career trajectory.

Amazing to think he'd been a manager for around 20 years before he actually coached an English side. It'd be great to see more coaches who talk of the lack of opportunities here try their luck overseas. Managed in six countries in the end, as well as being the national team manager of 4.

Not quite. His 2nd job was Bristol City.

I see Herr Klopp is in the press saying that he promises that the Liverpool supporters will give Roy Hodgson a proper farewell in his final game at their place. Hmmm....hypocrisy or maybe just the usual RS denial of past events. I recall them being the agent provocateurs to his last farewell from them...when they petitioned FSG in their thousands to sack him immediately. Roy was on the sticky end of their wrath for his response to their open criticism of him during matches there when they were chanting "Hodgson for England" and "Dalglish". He suggested that theyd be better off getting behind the team instead.
Of course, now the usual applies...if they dont mention it, it never happened.
