Rotation

I was honestly shocked last night when the team was announced, honestly thought there'd be a decent amount of rotation. I'm glad there wasn't now though and I think Roberto made the correct decision - I wonder if he'll rest anybody on Sunday or keep the same team? Ideally Pienaar would come in for McGeady, when the hell is he back?

You also have to rest one of Barry or McCarthy soon but it's just so difficult to split them up because of how boss they are.

the atsu one confused me because McGeady looked totally goosed as well.

I fully expect Lukaku to start against Crystal palace though. Came off with almost 30 minutes to go says to me hes being rested with the game won to start against Palace.

Etoo was class again when he came on.

He obvs hates Atsu

Can't believe he put Osman on instead if him last night. 4-0 5 mins to go ffs.
Not necessarily - He didn't play Deulofeu until November in the league so Atsu is already ahead of him.

I think he just wants to give McGeady as many minutes as possible before Pienaar comes back to see if he can develop into a real 1st team player for us. McGeady is one of those players that looks like he could like he could be but probably in the end will never be quite consistent enough.

In fact he did the same with Mirallas last season with Deulofeu being the one putting him under pressure and look at where Mirallas is now.

we got really unlucky with the europa/league fixtures really.

All our away europa fixtures are followed on the sunday by being away from home again.

Away at Krasnador - followed by United at OT
Away at Lille - followed by Burnley away
Away at Wolfsburg - followed by Spurs at WHL

Thats gonna be massive that - especially the United one after a 4000 mile round trip, no time to even prepare for the 12 oclock KO on sunday.

Genuinely id take the kids to Krasnador - like spurs did last night. I wouldnt even let the first 11 leave the country

If Besic doesnt start on Sunday im probably gonna start supporting Chelsea.
Gibson came on for Besic and given how rusty Gibson looked it probably was a good thing to do it when 4-0 up. Besic came on to close out the WBA game when it was much closer. I think that it shows at this time he trusts Besic more.

I think Besic will play this weekend. I've no idea who for.

They where hardly kids. But I agree definitely leave our most important players like Mirallas, Lukaku, Coleman and Baines behind. Honestly I would also probably bring a whole 2nd team given it's the game before the derby.

Disagree, at the very least I'd take Eto'o and McGeady given their experience in playing in Russia.

Krasnador are no pushovers as they showed last night away to Lille. If we can use these first three matches to stretch out a lead in the group whilst we are relatively fresh and not too bad for injuries then we'll be able to give more of the kids a run out for the two home games in Nov/Dec. Injuries permitting I'd play

Krasnador away
Robles
Browning/Hibbert Alcaraz Distin Oviedo/Garbutt
Besic Gibson
McGeady Osman Atsu
Eto'o

It might be a little early for Oviedo & Kone but wouldbe nice if both of them could at least get some minutes as subs. Ledson & McAleny also on the bench.

Utd away
Howard
Coleman Stones Jags Baines
McCarthy Barry
Mirallas Naismith Pienaar
Lukaku
