Not to bothered we have depth everywhere.

As we saw tonight, Lukaku, Naismith, Coleman all taken of early.

Gibbo, Eto, Osman - all good replacements!

Besic, Atsu, Alcaraz didn't even get a look. Distin got a night off, Hibbert is still there. Pienaar, Oviedo and Barkley to come back in and Kone playerd for the U21s this week.

Before we touch on the Garbutts, Browning, Longs, Galloways, McAlenys and Ledsons of this world!

In summary we're boss!

They all have to get a run somewhere...

I can't see the whole first team flying out to Russia in a few weeks, especially with the games around it.

I reckon against Swansea and Karansodor will be when we see Robles/Alcaraz/Garbutt etc

Always play your best side and tactics to get a result.

If a player is injured/goosed that's when you rotate.

I'd imagine Gibson/Besic in for Barry. Eto'o starting. Atsu and Pienaar too. Possibly Oviedo and Kone in the squad, not sure they're ready yet though. Only guessing here.

Hope he keeps the back five, playing well, no need to change.

Agree, Jags needs to impove his game a little though. Despite his elaborate back heel the other week, want to Besic play again, suspect itll not be in the Prem soon though. Great to see Gibson back...is it me but didnt our bench look solid tonight (bar Alcaraz)...cant remember the last time i said that !!

Need to rotate Barry/McCarthy soon .. maybe even Jagielka.

Coleman/Baines/Naismith need to miss swansea also. Hate to dismiss a cup we actually could win but dont see Martinez caring about the league cup. Hope the kids do us proud though!!

Won't you get the most out of players if they can have a rest occasionally though?
Yes mate - so if they're goosed rest them, if they're not then play them.

We should now be in the position that the players not starting are good enough to give a player a rest if they're blowing out of their arse.

So there have got to be games that get prioritised then? We don't want half our first team goosed in time for the derby.

I suppose in the event that a player's fitness has been assessed and they're deemed a risk for the subsequent game if played then to my mind they are goosed.

So yeah mate rest them so that they are fine for the following match if it's an important one.

I do get where you are coming from by the way and I'm not meaning to be pedantic - I just prefer minimal rotation if possible ;)

I imagine that Eto'o, Gibson, Distin and possibly Atsu will start the Palace game. Can see a lot of fringe players in the league cup games. If we don't prioritise Europa League games then last season was a waste.

I think Bobby is being clever.

He's sorting qualification as quick as possible.

Then he'll rotate more in remaining group games when qualification is assured. Perhaps giving experience to younger players.

Explosive start then into our stride. Hopefully two or three games in we'll be out in front

I think we're seeing Besic and Atsu bedded in slowly as they're new players coming to grips with how RM wants us to play. I'm sure we'll see more of them as they get more accustomed to our systems etc.

....personally find it hard to predict the strategy. I thought we'd see a few of the fringe players start last night but I think RM saw this as a must win in respect of setting us up for the rest of the group games. Its a cliché, but I really think he'll look at each game and play a team he thinks can win, particularly in the cup competitions. We have got some quality back up now.
