He should never have been allowed to run his contract down to the final year in the first place, that goes for all players we either want to keep or know have value. It's obvious he went there for a medical on deadline day and they found out he had a hamstring problem which needed fixing. He would of been told to stay at Everton and get it fixed and told to come back in January for a reduced transfer fee.

A lot of people need to look at this objectively.

How do we create conditions at the club that will allow our players to feel they don’t have to move to further there career.

It starts by emptying the board hopefully Moshiri will sort once he fulfills the requirements of his options, this scenario will play out in different guises numerous times in the next few years.

Pickford will be next particularly if he starts & has a strong World Cup.
