You dont know that. I'm no cheerleader for this board but only a fool would deny they have been the biggest friends LFC have ever had on H'boro. To state that they are stabbing the city in the back is so 'kin massively off the charts insulting it's not true.

As said: when is Anderson going to tell EFC and LFC to refuse Murdoch's Sky money?

Agree re stabbing in back but I think it's fairly obvious the club haven't currently chosen to ban the Sun.

I think it's fairly reasonable to assume discussions surrounding it have taken place over many months and I get the impression Joe sees this as a chance to make an example of it to the club who seemingly are reluctant to do so.

As I say, I imagine it's to protect there relationship with TalkSPORT.

In terms of SKy money, aren't they the preferred TV partner for the PL , of which we are part of the league. I don't think EFC could reject TV money otherwise they wouldn't be able to participate in the league.
Contractually SKy won't allow the rejection of the monies as it would risk the teams participation in the league in my eyes and would render the league uncompetitive.

The S*n / Talksport / Sky = all the same entity.

Anderson knows it and chooses to ignore it. I wonder why?

Of course he's right to have a go at the blackguarding of the city. We can debate about the intended insult all day long, but the impulse was correct to defend the city. But now he's thrashing about looking for more enemeies that juist aren't there.

He;s bang out of order pointing the finger at Everton Football Club. he's out of control and should apologise to the club and its fans.

Stabbing the city in the back. That accusation will never be forgotten.

Re last para...Wont happen...and wont happen. Would be a rhetorical question..or as you say order.

"Suspended" in the hope it blows over.

Sack him you bells. It's the obvious thing to do.

Oh, and those saying it wasn't racist? Fine. But the only other conclusion to make in that instance is that he's a journalist who hasn't done due research on a subject matter before slating it into the ground.

So he's either a racist, or incredibly incompetent. Either way, fire him ffs

It's unforgivable. McKenzie is out for the count but Anderson now wants to make Everton the story.

I'd suggest the club / council relations are now a cause for concern because sure as eggs are eggs the owners of EFC will be 'kin fuming. They've built up that EitC image to now have it torn down by this divvy.

Anderson is a typical opportunistic politician, jumping all over this now without thinking of the consequences, he was the same through all the stadium lark, couldn't keep his gob shut, it was all this "Look at me" and cryptic tweets etc.

Everyone despises Murdoch, Dave , but sinking all his ships only harms the innocent people who are employed by his companies. He would still be a billionaire.

It looks like a bizarre 180 degree turn in his relations with the club.

Wtf is going on behind the scenes in this now?

The thing is though mate, unless we refuse the sky money we can't ban sky. The difficulties with all boycotts of any kind is where you draw the line. I understand people saying about Sky but it is a separate company. Just as The Times are a separate Newspaper, albeit with a lot of overlap.

What this sorry affair is showing to me though is that the club have got into bed very closely with TalkSport via Jim White. It was a means to an ends which while I was uncomfortable with I could see the benefits (i.e. exposure far beyond what our current mob could guarantee). However the drawback may well be having to tolerate the Sun. It may be unfortunate for the club, but if you sleep with dogs you get fleas. I think this is a big best for Moshiri, who so far has done very well at not making decisions to upset anyone, but this is his first test.

As for Anderson I probably go two ways on him. I agree with you on a sense that he's quite astute in what could be described as quite shitbaggery. He's not massively trustworthy and we will have to make sure rather than playing him over this ground he doesn't end up playing us. That being said I have no issue with the Major of Liverpool pressuring the club over it's ties to people like TalkSport. While I can accept some of the specifics of what he said may to be perfect the essence of saying to that Everton board, tolerating newspapers who attack our players isn't acceptable is fair enough.

He may be out of control, as might Jim White, Talk Sport or the Sun (or even Usmanov). To me Moshiri is balancing a lot of competing interests off against each other. It will be fine while things go well but believe me if could turn sour if things start to spark. It's a risky game. Anderson's behaviour is more a consequence than a cause.
