Are the Sun owned by same corporation as TalkSPORT?
Interesting that seems to be our main comms channel recently.
Maybe that explains the lack of banning ?

Who the hell is Kelvin McKenzie? Anyway hope he gets chocked by his own b*llocks.
Yep, and unfortunately reaching out to its core readership. Glad the police are now investigating, it's very clear what was being put across, nefarious rag.
Harsh I know but no man talks about Boss like that. You serious??

Whilst we (members in general, not just Moderstors) may have differing opinions to Dave and even have reservations about some of and the amount of his posting, your comment about 'you lot' is somewhat offensive.
Dave knows only too well, that he stretches things without blatantly breaking rules, and he also receives his fair share of warnings and threadbans.
Question for you mate: if you weren't an Evertonian and knew nothing of Barkley would you immediately think "mixed race".
Along with most other people I doubt it.
Soft arse McKenzie has walked onto a punch with this without realising it.
That's not the point though Dave. It's irrelevant what McKenzie knows of Barkley's family, he has caused offence by the publication of that article. That's how it works in law; if I make a sectarian comment in work then it doesn't matter if I knew the religion of the offended or not.
I know you aren't defending McKenzie but plenty will using your same logic. You may well be right that he knows nothing of Ross but this shouldn't be a refuge to the man. Neanderthals will try though.
I like your posting Dave, a counterpoint to the unbounded enthusiasm of others like me. You are a bit off the mark with this topic though in my humble opinion mate.
No chance mate.
Far be it from me to hand out support to that scurrilous scumbag, but there's no way he'd have known about Barkley's heritage when making that insult.
That's a poor analogy.
You can call somebody a gorilla or a beast without it being racist. I'm reminded of a storyline in the TV show 'The Entourage' where a white character is turned into an angry and stupid gorilla for a cartoon. The characterisation had nothing to do with the historical racial insult, and the same is true here.
I highly doubt Kelvin MacKenzie knew Barkley had a grandfather of African descent, his description of Barkley was moronic and offensive but not racist at all. For people to suggest so and then be offended on Barkleys behalf is totally stupid.
By all means slate MacKenzie, but don't try and do it with something that simply isn't true.
I would be amazed if MacKenzie didn't know he was mixed race, and absolutely flabbergasted if no-one pointed it out to him when that article was scrutinized (as it no doubt would have been, coming from him, about someone from Merseyside, on the day before the anniversary). You also have to acknowledge his front for going on about unearned money and sleeping around at a time when - according to Popbitch at least - he is so desperate for cash (because his wife is about to divorce him for sleeping with a secretary) that he has launched his own price comparison website.

MacKenzie faces double chop
If you're one of the remaining
few who can still bear to read
Kelvin MacKenzie's column in the
Sun, you'll maybe have wondered
why he's been mentioning his
price comparison website, A
Spokesman Said, so much. Well,
it's because he desperately
needs it to take off.
Kelv is facing an expensive
divorce. Remember a couple of
years back we reported that
he was having an affair with
a secretary at the Sun, and
was all set to shack up with
her until getting cold feet
at the last minute? His wife
has finally decided to give
him the boot and is set to
take him to the cleaners.
Presumably the reason he's
working the self-promotion
angle so hard is that he knows
Rebekah Brooks is aching to bin
his 300K a year column - cutting
costs and helping to detoxify
the Sun's brand in one easy
move. He's hanging on by a
thread (thanks to support from
editor Tony Gallagher and owner
Rupert Murdoch) so is almost
literally trying to make hay
while the Sun shines.
I didn't know Ross Barkley was mixed race. What's the mix? English and Irish?
