Completely disagree. If someone came in and offered you a better job with a 30% wage increase you'd be off.

Not at the minute no. If my personal circumstances change then maybe down the line yea. But football is completely different. Someone moving for 30 grand when they were on 20 I can understand. Someone moving for 4 million a year when they were on 3 million a year I am completely bemused by. I don't get it.

Money rarely become less appealing the richer you get, if anything you get a taste for it and want more.

OK. I would say you are in the minority that you would turn down a 30% (actually 43% in the example I gave) raise and a better job out of loyalty.

Once your earning anything above about 250k a year money should be absolutely no object. I earn less than one tenth of that. In fact a good bit less. But I like my job. I like my firm. I've no interest in moving.
You would be surprised, I have kept saying throughout my career if I was just earning that I would be satisfied, if I am honest I have kept saying the same thing after reaching the so called target, it's never enough. Maybe it's greed.

Nailed it.

Is this an actual thing? Him leaving for wherever? I've not really seen owt about that tbh. Just a bit of paper talk which, considering the 'kin rags that have reported it, I take with a huge pinch of salt. Is this just a bit of GOT paranoia? Methinks it may be.

Maybe he just wants to concentrate on the rest of the season and sees no rush in signing because his heart belong to Everton FC. Maybe as soon as the season is over he will sign, maybe he is waiting to see who we sign so he gets parity in wages with whomever comes in. I think this summer is going to be an exciting transfer window.

An additional thing to recognize about football being completely different is timeline.

I've turned down more money before, because I was in a situation that promised to eventually get me to an even better spot, and I have the career timeline to make that choice.

Ross has ~ 10 more years of earning potential. He's not charismatic enough for punditry, and doesn't seem like he'll be a coach (but you never know).

Maximizing earning potential now may be a very important thing to him.

That said, I don't think it's about money or CL perse. I think it's about status.

I can't be doing with players that think they are too big for the club. If they were that good we'd be at the top of the league. I think Koeman will handle this correctly.......
Fair point this. Ross wants Champions League. Don't we all. Really want Ross to stay, but gone are the days when being a big Evertonian and being a star player at the club automatically means you stay. Interesting to see where he ends up if he actually goes.

he'll stay , it's all talk I reckon, he'll sign for 5 years . a toffee playing for his home city club in a brand new stadium. Ross is going nowhere, he knows it, RK knows it. all bull re press i'm thinking
