Which of them wouldn't you take over Barkley, in terms of ability?

I would say Eriksen and Lallana have less ability than Ross.
Hazard had been the best prem player for 2 out of 3 seasons, so that would be a bit unfair in comparing them.
Ross has about 5 years before he hits his peak, so until then the comparison to Silva, Mata and Cazorla (to a lesser extent) is difficult to make.
On ability alone, he has the potential to be up there. Whereas Silva, Mata and Cazorla (to a lesser extent), have already had proven careers.

Both Koeman and now Walsh have said that Barkley will be offered a new deal. Not that he has been already (which there's no evidence of).

As you say nobody knows for sure, but Koeman has only stated the facts.

That if he doesn't sign then we'll consider - from a business perspective - selling the player. But they're hopeful he'll sign.

It's true if Ross refuses a new contract with a year to go he will then go on a free no,club would accept that he has two choices negotiate, and sign his new contract or move to the highest bidder sad , but true!
