Didn't Koeman say the other day that there was a contract offer on the table and it's up to Barkley now if he wants to sign it?

The wording is really ambiguous. The way I read it he hasn't been offered one but that if he turned down the one we offer he'll be sold.

He was stupid - or probably naive - for getting himself in that position.

But we won't know the reasons and there's no reason he shouldn't be able to go out and have a drink or two after a match.
