FWIW, I think Spurs have a chance at the title next year. They are quality and given how similar we were 5 years ago, I hope we follow their footsteps and move up the league in the same manner.

They could also finish out of the top 4 because i think 6-7 teams next year are all in the mix for those spots.

Alli's passing and vision are hugely underrated because of his goals tbh.

Quite possibly mate. Definitely more to Alli than goals, but naturally they take centre stage.

But compare his passing stats to Ross. Ross makes nearly twice as many key passes a game, he has a better accuracy, he has more assists etc.

If Southgate had any sense (lol) he'd find a way to get the pair of them to combine for England. They're not clashing talents like Gerrard and Lampard. They could be very complementary.

To be fair that's because the onus isn't on Alli to make the pass it's on him to make the run instead that's his role in the team. He's rarely in the position where somebody is making the run and he needs to find them because he's the one running.

Sometimes he is in the position where somebody else is making the run and he's shown he's completely capable if that situation comes up.

One of the few teams I wouldn't mind see win the league either Spurs. A cracking young side they have together.

That's a fair point. I get it mate, you love Dele Alli. I think he's a whining little scrote personally but what a player for sure.

However this is an Everton Forum where we do occasionally like to talk about Everton players. In particular one we all think is exceptionally gifted, yet not even getting into the England team. One who doesn't get to play with as many good players as Dele Alli, yet is still showing he can dictate games even when he's being tightly marked and poorly supported.

To be honest I wasn't the one who brought Alli up in here I just put forward a bit of a defence for his critics. Although I suppose it's a natural comparison because they are Englands 2 best young attacking midfield type players.

It's an unfortunate comparison as England fans have been convinced that only one of them can be in the team.

More Southgate than England fans mate, I was very surprised he didn't get any minutes during the last set of internationals.

Maybe but the most common reaction I saw from neutrals was "he's not as good as Dele Alli".

Can't see anything changing though. Southgate is a vegetable with hair and Ross can't do much more really to catch the eye. Other than move to a more media-adored club.

Alli will be turning 21 in few days time, his stats are pretty impressive so far. I don't see Ross as the same type of player in all honesty, so it's a silly comparison. I will say Ross is poor defensively and can't make a tackle to save his life and he does need to improve on those things, but that side will begin to develop more. I want Ross to stay that's a definite as I think he's a talent, but that's up to him.
