who's the academy player?
Marcus Edwards. Here's an article with quotes from Poch. Big mistake imo now he has to come through with that kind of expectation.

Not good enough for England though. They prefer Livermore and Oxlade Chamberlain.

People should start to realise playing for England isn't a barometer for how good a player is.
It's quite possibly the opposite.
You just want one of the bland pundits to shout "cos the national team is gash" when the not playing for England card gets used.
Theres actually a headline on the bbc about alli being better than gerrard, lampard and beckham combined, he's not even better than ross, who has a far rarer skill set and doesn't have the wonderful erikksen doing all the difficult stuff for him so he can toe poke one in and grab the headlines. Ross is by far and away the best english midfielder in the league, we need to show him that respect with our contract offer
Lads. Come on. You know you said it.
I do agree and rate alli as a very good player, but players like Ross are much rarer, almost unheard of as english talents (possibly beardsley or hoddle being close to being that sort of player), and the rarity of having such a player, as you say one who can run games, him being scouse and an evertonian, I honestly can't remember enjoying watching someone play for us so much when he is on songDifferent players really. Alli is a great talent but he doesn't have the potential to run a game. He might decide a game for sure. I won't play down how excellent he has been.
But Ross is the best pure talent England have produced in a long time. He has everything and can achieve anything. And he's slowly realising that potential.
Alli's passing and vision are hugely underrated because of his goals tbh.
