Not as gifted at dribbling or finding space as Mane or Coutinho, plus they pressed him in threes because he's our only midfield threat-it became easy for them. Seriously don't know why Mirallas wasn't on from the start, as DLC is technically inferior.

But I don't think that's gonna change with him until we bring actual quality to the squad and a winning mentality. Too much passion in those games and probably thinks he's got to do that to prove how much it means.

It's what the fans want to see isn't it? Well, that's how I think he feels. It's why his head went.

He was the one player who threatened the opposition yesterday, Lukaku was hopeless and Calvert-Lewin was a little lost.

If Barkley had been afforded the space that we gave Coutinho and Mane then perhaps the media would've -begrudgingly - praised him rather than slate him.

Agree 100%. Ross has been a breath of fresh air lately, but I'll reiterate what I said previously. Having Morgan schnerderlin behind him has been a massive influence on his 'return to form'. Sometimes you only appreciate something even more when it's gone and Barkley and the team in general, certainly missed schnerderlin's presence on the pitch.

Completely agree but he is being slated then compared to countinho based on one game. As a one off comparison thats fine however these Idiots don't watch us every week & when he has been along with lukaku the biggest contributor to us being pretty much being the best team in the league in 2017 that's forgotten about.

I know we haven't played that many top teams & lost to Liverpool & spurs however why doesn't countinho get slated when he doesn't contribute or break down the weaker teams that Liverpool so often come up short against.

Totally agree. Coutinho scored his 2nd goal since November yesterday and suddenly the commentators are holding him as what Ross needs to aspire to. Absolute drivel.

Yes , he has grown into our most important player this season so to see him lose his focus yesterday whilst understandable was damaging for us.

Ross gave it a good go yesterday but not much came off for him,but at least he turned up and had a go.
There where 10 other players on the pitch and lots went wrong but that's the pit for you.
Start again on Tuesday come on you blues.

On the nose with that. And it's because Ross is English and they love to stick the boot in until players fade away.

The RS this season have a good record against the top 6 at home. He's been a factor.

But the games they've lost against lower opposition, cup games/finals and European games Coutinho has absolutely gone missing.

He's been there 5 seasons. Won zero. Played in the champions league once.

Good player yes. A player teams are breaking the bank for? Nope.

What I do find funny is the criticism Ross gets compared to other English players. Did people see that line up against Lithuania and think "there's some talent there?" It's the worse generation of footballers I've ever witnessed.

No when there's one who is a talent all they want to do is say he's not good enough.

Think what the commentators failed to mention as to why Coutinho played so well (funny how they didn't mention how crap he's been prior to the Derby) was because of the amount of space we gave him all over the gaff, struggling to remember one instance where we actually closed him down or put a challenge of any note in.

On the other side the RS closed Barkley down everytime he had, or was close to the ball.
