Felt sorry for him today. I would simply say it was frustrating for him. If he was afforded the space we allowed Coutinho and Mane then he would have thrived. Liverpool did a job on him and swarmed all over him in seconds. They nullified our only creative player. He never gave up and his passion overwhelmed him sometimes. Showed some good play but mainly out numbered and marked out of the game. Something we should have tried against Coutinho.

The lad's still boss, not his best game but at least you can see the passion he has for it which is a lot more than can be said of others, never hides and always looking for the ball. Think he tries too hard sometimes to do it all on his own. Rather have him than not tho.

I agree. We did not have the players good enough to do the job. What I don't understand is the space that was allowed and only maybe 1 player in close proximity whereas all of our players had 2 or 3 around them. They walked past our 1 player far too often and far too easy. We had to look up to see where our players where (vital seconds lost) yet they knew and know where there players are. They are mastering the art of pressing collectively and we are only pressing in clumps therefore allowing space, time and gaping holes. If pressing is not done collectively and correctly it becomes more of a hinderance than help.

Its these games where Ross simply has to impact/effect the game in a positive manner more.
Its these games which will get him back into the England line up.

I love the player; think hes great and does seem to be ironing out his inconsistencies. But the big games are where the big players step up and he simply must do that to take himself to the next level.
