The cockiness of spurs fan all of a sudden !

He holds all the cards and has time on his side. The young talent has stagnated at Everton and the great potential he showed as a teenager has not been realised. Everton are not going to be able to give him UEFA Champions League football and he will surely now look to progress his career before it is too late.

Everton fans won't like that, but that's the fact of the matter, they simply aren't a big enough club to hold on to players for long. They are a stepping stone club for players to prove their worth and then move on to someone bigger who can offer more opportunity.

The question is, does Ross Barkley have any ambition? He should have left before now when Manchester United were circling, staying hasn't advanced his career at all. We are clearly very keen on him and he fits the profile of player we are looking for, young with potential to improve.

Whether he will choose Spurs only he knows but he can't help but be impressed by what Mauricio Pochettino has done plus the fact that he trusts youth. Barkley has loads of Premier League experience, another plus and will be cheaper than his full market value because of only having a year remaining.

Anyone who purchases him has an instant increase in his value when he signs on the dotted line and collects his signing bonus. Everton were wanting to sign Moussa Sissoko last summer so no doubt a deal involving him will be discussed at some stage.

Absolutely clueless and such a second rate attempt at journalism!

I hadn't thought of it before but my cousin is convinced he'll join Spurs so that he has a chance to play alongside Ali and Kane which will be great for his international prospects. That is the future of English football there, those 3 players playing alongside each other at club level would be seen as a positive for the national team.

Im sure there would be other factors as well... just got to hope his love for Everton overrides all of this. The longer it drags on the more worrying it becomes.

..and who will he replace in their side? Eriksen?

Barkley has always struck me as a blue, so I'm a bit surprised by the idea of him pushing for a move to us. I'd take him in a heartbeat, really rate him

Relationship between Ross and Koeman will be the big factor to keep Spurs at bay. I think Koeman has took the first step to keep him after a tough beginning. Actually, I have always fearedArsenal turning his head over Spurs. I think it will all come down to who offers the best fit for him. He has impressed me the past month or two I know he has a cult following. So fingers crossed.
It will, but that imo will act as a negative.

Barkley is holding his game in check and doing what he has to do to please a manager who wants to reshape his game.

I really dont think it'd take much persuasion from Pochettino to attract him there. For one thing he'd be going to a manager who wont hang him out to dry and make him the issue when it suits.

Koeman as manager in this instance is not a factor weighing heavily in favour of getting RB to stay.

A positive in my eyes. Barkley's game has improved ten-fold since Christmas, he's now the focal point and as such the manager has given him a free role to exploit the space and stamp his influence on the game. He's developing into a solid midfielder at his boyhood club, the lad will sign an extension IMO

LOL yeah that's why he's actually not trying and sulking all the time, refusing to even step on the pitch.

LOL

"Negative impact".

How can you say it's improved ten fold? He's been involved a lot more and that's to be welcomed. But his telling contributions to games are not dramatic. He has 9 games left to get his goals and assists to last season's best - which he did in three quarters of that season before conveniently clocking off.

I desperately want him to stay because he is literally the only player we have who has that x-factor about him apart form a few cameo appearances from Lookman. But I wouldn't blame him moving on one bit.

Lol.

The notion the Spurs are a 'bigger' club than Everton is laughable.

Couple of good seasons and delusions of grandure.

If Everton want to keep Ross then Ross will stay. I am sure an agreement will be reached soon.

You can just see it by watching him. He's doing more, sack your goals and assists stats. Actually lay your eyes on him and watch.

And no, none of your cog in the wheel it's all for the system stuff. Gone are the raw instincts he utilised when he first broke in, he's looking more and more like a clever player who can do everything. It's why he's creating more chances and offering so much more in the midfield and not just the attacking third.

He works hard for the team and the team revolves around him.
