I hope he practices getting shots off. He's terrible at it. That seems to be the one part of his game that hasn't taken off this year. He's got such a great shot too, it's peculiar to me..

Yup, He hardly ever tries to shoot or beat a man nowadays.

Amazing what can be achieved when you're playing for your employment, Ross hasn't got a contract yet because he's been asked to earn it and prove he's as good as we know he can be.

Yeah i agree, unfortunately I think he's suffered too much from the divs who've booed him. He's a player who needs to be supported and loved, just look back and see some of the comments on here, is it any wonder that he's more inclined to play the ball rather than try to take on the opposition.

No we don't. The new Barkley helps us win games 4-0. The old Barkley helped us lose games 2-1, but pulled out a great shot. Being flashy has nothing on good passing.

It doesn't have to be one or the other... He can shoot and beat players as well as keeping the positive aspects of his time under koeman.

I think it's smart management for this player, who may have been feeling like he's set for life and could waste the chance to become world class.

Caught the tail end of a discussion on 5Live this afternoon, with Henry Winter, Ian Dennis (I think), and Dean Saunders. It was mainly about Lukaku, but the comments apply to Barkley, too. When asked if Lukaku should/would leave, Winter and Dennis both asked why anyone would leave Everton right now. Money, a good manager, a ground move, great youngsters coming through, the team playing well...they were extremely positive about the entire set-up. I imagine the players and their agents will be able to see this, too. Both will stay, I reckon.
