Ross Barkley

I think both those players are better than Lukaku out wide or whatever Coutinio does.

And that contract would make him better paid, I think, than any member of the current PL Champions and 1/4 finalists of the CL.

In short, comparing clubs pay structure is pointless. Liverpool have way bigger income than us, so can afford/are allowed bigger wages.

Sake. Thought it was one of the Rom threads.

Soz. Ignore me.

That's the very point footballers must compare clubs wage structures he is not an evertonian he won't stay unless we offer him more money than this £140k.

he has every right to demand it as many of his peers albeit playing in different positions & often at different clubs are earning far more money than we are offering him.

Ultimately if Ross doesn't sign up it will be extremely disappointing and he will have let down the club

I hope for both, that he doesn't let us down if a good offer is on the table, and we don't get let down by the negotiators by offering a sub par offer thinking he'll resign for emotions.

At the end of the day we don't know what goes on behind the scenes at the club, maybe Ross doesn't get on with Koeman and didn't like the way he was treated with the 'tough love' stuff?

There is probably stuff out there where Ross praises Koeman, but I was watching Gillette soccer Saturday a few weeks ago and Ross was on there being interviewed, he was asked about the influence Koeman had had on his recent form and he seemed to swerve the question and just said that he had taken it upon HIMSELF to work harder, etc. Some on here will have probably seen the interview and see it differently to me, IMO though he deffo didn't want to give much credit to Koeman.

For what it's worth like, I think he'll sign.

Well, to use an extreme example to prove a point, Rom, or Ross to hopelessly try to keep on topic, are on a fraction of what some bang average, washed up footballers are getting in China.

So they should demand that then?

No that would be far too simplistic if Liverpool are paying lesser players more then ultimately we have to match it agreed it's a poor business model paying average players high wages however the trick is picking the correct players to pay it personally think they are both worth it.

Agree. Both are worth it.

But it still remains the fact, that different clubs have different budgets.

Right, nobody knows anything basically, but I would expect Ross to know that Koeman (if Everton match Ross's ambition) is more transient than he would/will be.

Let's all cross fingers and toes in both situations cause that's really all we can do.
