Ross Barkley

I was pleased for Ross in that he is getting his mojo back but I could also understand his frustrations. On more than one occasion he had to check back because even though he made himself space with the ball several of our players ahead of him made no attempt to lose a marker. This is why people get on his back and then when movement was ahead of him he provided good passes. Goes without saying that the players around him will make him or destroy him. We need more team work off the ball when Ross has the ball.

and its why we need a striker up with rom, the lad comes alive and moves a shed load kmore when he has another up with him, and that makes ross ten times better

If we get Schnieiderlin then I would love to give Barkley a chance to see if he can play better in front of Gueye and schnieiderlin and then find another attacker in the summer

Not being funny but, I think it's him who needs to give us a chance.
He was singled out, unlike most other under performing players, as to what he does wrong and Koeman has admitted he was too harsh.
This 'Koemans worked well with him' and 'the penny dropped with Ross' type of stuff, in my opinion is rubbish.
Ross had, in 2 periods against Soton, movement in front of him as he got the ball deeper and was allowed to play. Fair play to Koeman, for realising his mistake and trying to improve the team, as a result.
Give him that 'chance' and you never know.

He will be boss with Schneiderlin, Gana and two wide forwards of a better quality than Mirallas and Lennon.

I have to disagree with this. Ross often has options available but he tends to either hang onto the ball for way too long (until his options have dried up) or he just simply chooses the wrong option.

Ross just doesnt have the mentality for it. You cant have a player in the middle of the park who cant very quickly pick out a pass, and who makes poor decisions, which Ross does frequently. Great last game by him, but far too often its 1 in 3 where hes effective, and the other 2 where hes a liability.

I think Ross will be a good player for a mediocre team. If we aspire to be more than that, we have to realize we need more.

He's a fantastic talent still but hasn't shown what he's capable of consistently enough. With Schneiderlin coming in, I can't see Ross being played in his best position as a cm. When you look at the quality of the number 10s in the PL, likes of silva, hazard, coutinho, Ozil - its obvious Barkley isn't this type of player.

As much as I hoped he'd be the next Wayne Rooney and a world name in football, I think if we get a decent enough offer we should look to cash in.
