Season, possibly. Not even close to his best ever.

He's shown moments of greater brilliance, like at Newcastle 2013-14 and against QPR the following year. This was 80+ minutes of good decisionmaking, looking to play the aggressive pass, effort, defensive contributions, everything. It was a complete performance. The goal was just the cherry on top.

That he can do this after contributing nothing for weeks on end is frustrating as all hell, but I guess that's better than being frustrating and never putting in these kinds of games.

someone else said it earlier too: if he relies on instincts and not over-thinking then things happen for him (and his team) more.

He's played way better before, away to arsenal and at home to Liverpool in 2013/14 were his two best overall performances.
