For all the nonsense Barkley has taken on here before Christmas I'm made up for him. Most posters know he is a top player and recent performances have shown how good he can be.

I've loved the growth in his confidence in recent weeks, you can tell, he doesn't think or wait, it goes first time - left foot, right foot and the tempo is kept. For me, he's listened and done more defensive work - for the size of him, that's fair...won more battles and put his foot in to take away some criticism.

When it comes together, he's some player. Who didn't enjoy that goal?
