It's embarrassing how some people latch onto something even if it's not true & cant let go for fear of being proven wrong
Thing with Ross is he's had more good games than bad ganes this season and a number of so so games inbeteeen. People tend to notice the bad games more and also conveniently ignore the fact that, even in his average game, he's still far and away our most creative player.

Without him we're crap offensively. At keast when we have him in the team we have a chance of playing well.

It's a real shame that he gets so much stick from the press, neutrals, and even a large congingent of our own fans. Can't believe there are loads on here who actually want to sell him.

We dont need Ross to improve. He's already a special talent. We do need him to be a lot more consistent and we also need go help him by bringing in a genuine playmaker who will take some of the burden and creative responsibility off his young shoulders.

excellent post

Its confirmation bias at its worst with regards to Ross, one misplaced pass and its "FFS ROSS EVERY TIME".

The emergence of Davies seems to have helped him, lets hope he continues to rack up the assists.
They do look like they compliment each others game and play at the same pace. If someone else was able to chip in with a few more assists we would be motoring. Perhaps Schneiderlin will do.

Amazing what happens when you get two players who pass and move playing together. Scheniderlin being a third means Ross should get even more chances for assists.

I think, with Ross Barkley, it is all about expectation levels. We expected a world beater to emerge who would put our opponents to the sword week in week out. He was handcuffed to idea we had of him that was not humanly possible.
When he falls short of our unrealistic demands then he is letting us down. He is a bad boy.
Hopefully we can start to realise this and start to appreciate him for what he does and not lambasted him for what he doesn't do.
Hopefully we learn from Ross Barkley and don't repeat the mistake with the likes of Holgate and Davies.

I think the more movement that is around Barkley the better he will become. Most of the best passes, and he had a few, were because players movement. Additionally all this crap about poor passing and poor decision making is a load of crap. All players make bad choices every single one of his gets highlighted! He is getting a bit better every game.

Don't skin me for this because I haven't been able to watch as closely as I'd like this season, but in addition to Davies, I also think the way they're playing under Koeman has helped Barkley a great deal.

He's not someone who's going to manufacture space against a defense in the final third. But he's great at exploiting space that already exists - in this case, he's generally sitting deeper (I think) and the long balls over the top are stretching out play.

/Basketball guy trying to analyze football things.
