Now we've managed to degrade him to a slow unfit wreck with no confidence and a fear of passing forward. Well done Everton.

Ross and Gueye in deep midfield should have been our star pairing. Koeman didn't have the balls to do it. Bit risky letting Barkley play there when you can just play the pensioner Barry instead who'll let any man and his dog run off him.

Let's get some quality in the side around him. Players that will actually move into space and create things, which will ease the burden on Ross' young shoulders. If we are still seeing inconsistent and poor performances, then is the time to move Ross on not before.

Barry hasn't got the legs any more in that position to track runners and I feel Ross doesn't have the knowledge or discipline to play that role further forward. Get in schneiderlin and Gana alongside him and get two wide players with pace ahead of him, who make runs off the ball. Ross and the whole team will benefit.

Where does the 'try him at Central midfield' come from? His work rate is almost as bad as Deulofeu. He lacks the footballing brain to track people's runs. He can't tackle.
For me, he just hasn't progressed the way he should have. Maybe that's down to his leg break a few years ago, maybe it's a confidence issue. I just don't know how we'll get the best from him.

The idea that fans criticising him on twitter or indeed in the ground could be a reasonable cause of any lack of form at any point and that they are to blame is absolute horse manure.
