He will play for England again... the media will see to that.. and they will destroy him when England lose.

This. When he regains some semblance of form. It'll be a while though, by the looks.

I said that last time england played and people were asking why Barkley wasn't playing.

Besic gave the most gutless, pathetic, un-arsed 45 minutes i've seen from an everton player in my lifetime last season home to Arsenal.
I saw him boss the entire Man City midfield on his own in a semi-final last season.

Ross is struggling atm which is clear to see. He needs to learn when to pass, When to shoot, when to keep the ball etc as his main problem is his decision making. Put his physical attributes and 2 footedness with the brain of say a Paul Scholes and what you then have is the new Zidane but unfortunately he does not. What to do with him is the conundrum......Play him? drop him? sell him? answers on a postcard please as personally I really don't know...What I do know is that he is going backwards in his development and the new 'Gazza' is looking more like the new Carlton Palmer.

which was out of character for him...

on the other hand, you know before the game starts that Ross is going to give it away; then slowly jog in the direction of where the balls gone, give up after 5 yards and patiently wait for the next pass to him... at least this season, if Mirallas gives it away, he'll go chasing after it and not leave it for someone else to do the job for him.

Some people seem to have this obsession that cause he is a local lad he isn't allowed to have any criticism come his way. If we had bought him years ago for around £15/20 million from Spain etc hoping he would be next big thing, he would be hounded out for not being good enough.

Everyone wants the lad to achieve the potential he clearly has but at the moment he doesn't seem to be improving and clearly isn't playing well. He is not a kid anymore and he needs to start stepping up to the plate, not just for us but for his own career.

Somebody pointed out in an earlier post that maybe Ross is having some kind of mental reaction to the death of Sid Benson?

At the risk of repeating myself as I've said this umpteen times before, but Ross - in my opinion - could/would benefit from an off-field mentor, to help him get his head straight about how to play in certain situations and at various stages of the game.

In my opinion, the club could do a whole lot worse than approach Colin Harvey to be just such a 'counsellor' to and for Ross to discuss the game and learn from.

Colin came through in similar fashion to Ross and others older than me will recall he suffered some abuse as a youngster. But Colin had mental as well as physical strength, and dare I say it in Harry Catterick, a manager who really believed in him.

I am firmly and resolutely of the opinion that Colin Harvey should be approached and offered the chance to help Ross become the player that we all want him to be.
