Ross Barkley

Thought he was good.

Was he to tired to complete 90? If he's here next season he should be much fitter, maybe still suffering from the Martinez anti-fitness regime.

I actually thought that some of his passes and movement last night was superb.

I get the feeling that, if he wasn't English, he'd be applauded.
It's very difficult for some to form an opinion when Journalists pundits & even ex Everton players fail to recognise the reality of the situation.

Half time analysis of that game on BT sport was all united however Ross was excellent after the first 10 mins and was by far the best player on the pitch yet no mention of him at all.

The narrative then continues & grows it didn't even show his turn & long range pass with the wrong foot to mirallas when lukaku should have squared it back
To mirallas. It was the best passage of play in the half

Fitness isn't his issue, if needed he could have pushed on for the 90, right before he came off he made several lung busting runs pushing the ball forward. However, we needed some fresh legs and we didn't have any other CMs to put on and I doubt Koeman wants Barkley sitting deeper trying to protect a lead in this match. If McCarthy or Besic were healthy I wouldn't have been surprised if Ross would have stayed on and Davies went off.

Best player on the pitch yesterday. Taking him off early really hurt us. I think had he stayed on we would all still be reveling in an excellent win at old Trafford. His play was the only creative force left after Mirallas was taken off, and the only opportunity we had to get the ball out of our own half.

On another note; I continue to get the impression that Ross & Rom just do not have any chemistry at all. They seem to always have conflicting thoughts on where they want the offense to go, and the frustration from both is clear and obvious. As just a fan that watches the matches, seems to me like Rom is an insufferable tit that is not interested in team wins as much as personal glory. Is it possible that the whole contract situation with Ross Barkley is really dependent on whether or not he is going to have to continue playing with Lukaku after this summer?

Anybody closer to the club have any insight into how these two carry on off the pitch? I'd just hate to lose a home town talent like Ross all over a media darling with no loyalty to the club. (clearly no bias opinions here)

What a little cretin Leon Osman is for his comments today.

I think little Leon fancies himself as a pundit now given his appearances on MOTD2 and other football platforms. Jumping on the anti Ross bandwagon merely levels him to all the other ten a penny droning gasbags (step forward Murphy, Sutton et al) who think theyre re-inventing the wheel telling us how football should be. Think hes shown a lack of respect to an ex teammate in this instance when he could've done the decent thing by also referring to the media microscope that's been on the lad since the World Cup which not surprisingly hasn't helped. Theres a difference between the biased kissing of ex teammates arses a la J.Redknapp and offering moral support against the tide.
