It's rare in October that players exhibit any outward signs of discontent. Especially in a situation like this where they've come through the club's academy and are local lads. You have to look at it from the other side, how quickly would the Everton crowd turn on Barkley if he were to publicly say "yeah Champions League football is important to me even if that means having to leave my boyhood club".

If you truly believe that City have not tried for Barkley in the past and that suddenly now they are showing interest then your deluded. Whilst Ross has indicated said how happy he is at Everton recently as you rightly point out, he has also said the same over the past two years or so, when clubs such as City have come in for him before. He has had chances to be funny and look to move or ask to leave in the past but doesnt want to. Simple as that.

Perhaps you need to look at it without your City tinted glasses on for a minute and be rational; just because City have bought a load of English dross over the years doesnt mean it will continue. The very fact that they have stagnated the careers of many is showing young British, talented players that the grass isnt greener.

I am afraid on this occasion your just going to have lump it right now. My bet is Barkley will end up at Chelsea, Real Madrid or Barcelona anyway; that's a far bigger move than he will ever get to City.

City are a club in a bit of a quandary. Their income streams are not in the Utd or Chelsea league, I think it fair to say their chances of winning back to back titles are very slim, they are nearly out of the CL and they have to operate within the FFP guidelines.

Everton know that if Barkley continues to impress he will coveted by the biggest clubs in the world. If Barkley has the choice of Bayern, Real Madrid, Barcelone or Man City where would you think he would go.
City have won two fortuitous titles and now believe they are bigger than they really are.

So RM told someone at a press conference "Of the record" that they are selling Barkley and this info hasn't found it's way into the papers?

Barkely might be sold, he might not. He might want to stay here forever, he might want to sign for Man City as soon as possible. And he might change his mind tomorrow.

Makes me laugh people getting so wound up over it all, nothing we can do about it so just accept that whatever happens happens.
