Ross Barkley joins Chelsea, er, Villa on loan

No manager would make me leave Everton if I ever had the chance tbh
I’d leave Everton to play at the highest possible level that I could within my profession. End of the day it’s his livlihood so why wouldn’t you want to give yourself the best chance of collecting titles and as much money as you could?

You think Wayne Rooney regrets leaving the club he supports to play in the top club competition for almost 13 years winning countless leagues, champions leagues and pots. When he could’ve narrowly avoided relegation for a few seasons, got in the champions league once then endured us sacking three consecutive managers?

Yeah I know, but you only get one life really, id like to think that would have been my perfect life so wouldn't want to change.

I get that and I wasn’t having a pop , I think it’d be all of our dream lives wouldn’t it ? That’s why we’re on here , I just mean it’s hard to assess how we’d all behave in that position probably especially because it’s our dream

I just see the money aspect as silly with modern footballers really. If you're on 100k a week, what on earth is there in life you can't afford? Ah well, everyone is different. In my current role I'd be happy going up one more pay scale and that's be me done for life, I wouldn't want to go to these higher manager positions.

It is easy for people to say I'll do this etc., yet as you mention it's different when you're in that situation and you're considering your future livelihood and prospects.

We also do not truly know what has happened behind the scenes - purely conjecture - so once again it's easy to suggest he should have done this or that.

Therefore, while I am disappointed he left us I can to an extent understand the potential reasons of desiring to play at the top level, winning things and the money.

The issue however with Ross is for me how he left, and how it appears the club were manipulated out of money to benefit him, his agent and his new club.

For me, it is incredibly difficult to balance the concept of being an Evertonian and the above rather than the ultimate decision to leave; it just wreaks of him being...

His agent and financial advisor should I suppose rightfully be telling him that it's not just about what he can afford now, but his and his family's long-term future.

He doesn't seem the brightest and most inspiring of individuals so I have doubts he'll make it in management, coaching of successful punditry after he retires.

As such, I'm sure they'll be squirrelling away his money now and investing it in different projects etc, so when he retires he can be more than comfortable.

It was inevitable that once that ball bag Conte left he'd get his game and show he fits in.

Why do some think that they have to carry out a vendetta against a lad frozen out at Everton and made unwelcome by the last two managers and that gormless 'kin owner?

As predicted, he's playing for a top team and getting starts. That's the bottom line.

Hmmmm

For most of us, we can’t see the difference between 100k or 150k a week, both numbers are beyond our wildest dreams. But if you got offered double the wages for doing the exact same job, but with a different employer, most of us wouldn’t even think twice.

Spot on.

Not many players are as lucky as Giggs, Scholes & The Nev's. Wininng all the trophies with the team you love and support.

People can say all they want about "how much money is enough" but its NEVER enough. Humans will always spend what they earn, and want more.

I always had wage targets in my job that I wanted to reach, and I always though I would be happy when I got to it. Nope....wanted to see what I could do to get to the next level. Human nature, and it can come with ambition. ALL pro footballers are ambitous by nature.
