To be honest you don't know what is going on inside his relationship, she maybe colder than a fridge to him because of his past indiscretions which in turn makes him want to cheat more. She could also be the opposite and he is just an arse or when drunk can't control himself but without knowing the full truth we should be careful not to make out that she is a saint that has been wronged for no reason. Never know what goes on behind closed doors.

I suspect that's a carefully orchestrated visit to the shop without her ring - probably buying family essentials - to publicly show him her displeasure.

It also sends quite a large message to the masses to buy their support: she wants them that he's the one out gallivanting all while she's at home with the children.

He has a lot to thank her for, and I'm sure he recognises her role in his career...

Neither do I. He's undoubtedly been a great footballer, but his inability to be a consummate professional muted the talent he had when he first started.

A good role model for the younger generation? Nah, not while he's drank, smoked and took the proverbial Michael right throughout his career.
