Ronald Koeman watch

Gotta agree ( as much as I hate to say that )

Koeman, combined with Walsh and their spending spree on the wrong players, has set us back years.

Allardyce is just a dinosaur, who isn`t capable of fixing the mess and has made it worse.

Personally wouldn't say worse. He'll get us over the line but he's no way the man to fix it.
The transfer budget is somewhat of a red herring though. By its very nature the latest person to manage any club will be the one who has spent the most (obviously if they have been there for any length of time.) as prices continue to rise.

We were in 13th (if I remember correctly) when Walker arrived (Though that may have been when Kendall left, Gabriel was in charged for around 7 games). he did bring in some decent players to be fair (Limpar, Parkinson, Ferguson) but his team selections just went mad, Barry Horne at right back for example in the worst Everton performance I have ever seen against Coventry at Goodison (and there have been some bad performances over the years!).

Im not even defending him as we're talking Hall of fame levels of gashness for this club.

But to me Koeman had a BMW with almost free reign to kit it out. Instead he scrapped it and bought a reliant robin for more than the BMW. Catalyst to setting us back wards for years.

Walker took over a side on steady decline especially with Johnson at the helm. Took another 8 years until Moyes came in to sort it out.

'New Holland boss Koeman, 54, is making jokes, holding court and the audience are hanging on his every word. "After Everton, where everyone knew it was really difficult towards the end, I needed time to focus again. I needed to recover. I have had a good time to relax"'.

That's nice for him. Able to joke and recover and relax. Meanwhile we struggle with the useless get's catastrophic flushing of £200M down the toilet and terrible football approach he put in motion which made for an easy shift over to Samosaurus.

The club should have him arrested while he's in the country.

"But OK, that's football"

It's just good to know he's recovered and relaxed from his Everton ordeal. It must have been hell picking up a kings ransom in wages and spending £200M on utter tat. Great to read that after his horrendous experience he's still very much in love with the game.

Well I for one congratulate you on moving on from your previous stance on Ron Ko.

He'll be managing his beloved Barcelona before you know it.

...imagine him getting hold of Barcelona's transfer budget! Catalonia would have to cancel plans for independence, the banks who back Barca up would be cleaned out.
It would be the worst appointment for Catalonia since Franco took power of Spain*.

*probably not really, but lets all agree that if Picasso was around today, Guernica (I know, I know - it's not in Catalonia) would have been called 2017/18 Everton's defence.

Dunno if I'd say BMW - skoda octavia maybe.
Think in hindsight the way the wheels came off so spectacularly, so quickly [us being appalling from kick one of pre-season], is as much about weak coaching and Koeman's lack of leadership as it was the new players, wrong players etc. I was inclined to give him the benefit of the doubt with all of the disengaged, golf-course shouts - same way you don't fall in love with a player just because they kiss the badge after scoring a goal. Books and covers an all. But in reality it looks like that is exactly where his mind was - just wanted to slot fully-formed players into the team and no ability to build core resilience and character to the squad. So first signs of trouble and it folds - add in a load of directionless additions to the squad and it's the total cluster we've all enjoyed watching this season.

Ashamed that I ever fell for this fat weapon. That squad he left us with was the worst I've ever seen in my lifetime, had absolutely no discernable qualities to it and no clue what it's function was whatsoever. At least with Walcott coming in and Coleman coming back to full fitness we have the pace to put teams on the back foot and play further up the pitch, which has somewhat turned us around from looking absolute relegation fodder to mid-table fodder. That he saw fit to sign Cuco Martina TWICE is the only case that needs to be made for this knobhead never working in club management again.

Words fail.
