Ronald Koeman discussion

Koemans just saying what we all can see. This team is not good enough, we know and Koeman knows it. He is as frustrated as anyone. By all accounts it was not a great match today but we were relatively comfortable, he puts Del on for a bit more spark...it works and then it is all undone by woeful play. That to me is the players fault and he sees that they are not strong minded players. Its like he has threw his arms up in the air wondering what on earth can be done with this team without purchases. He has basically laid down the gauntlet to the board saying nothing can be done with the current squad as it is except tread water. Quality is needed, guts are needed. We have little quality in this side and when guts and thunder is needed most will hide. I like Koemans honesty and straight forwardness. Its a refreshing change and should keep stronger players on there toes rather than hiding behind the couch.

But those same players (albeit some are internationals) have let Martinez down and now Koeman. It's a collective failure, RK has made mistakes but the players need to look at themselves as professionals and ask themselves are they implementing what Koeman is asking of them. If they aren't they are either not good enough to implement that style of play or they don't have the desire to. Either way they should be shown the door I'd that is the case.

Agree and thats why I think he was targeting the players more than the board.

If the comments kick-starts the board into buying the players he needs then he is a genius, if that doesn't happen though he goes into the next match against one of the best teams in the league having told the whole world that our players are crap and that he can't possibly fashion a winning side out of them.

Talk about you made your bed now lie in it...

and this is why i possibly am wrong in saying he can do better, because i see this squad on paper and realise there's a lot of talented individuals on there (some look better on paper because of their careers to date as opposed to their current state). But the whole lot are mentally fragile and aren't winners. Barry's the only one who really knows what it's like to win things and that's showed in his career here, but it seems now his legs have finally gone. Regardless of how good they look on paper, they lack bottle, confidence on the big occasions, nous and seemingly heart because if things go wrong, they never look like bouncing back. This is why i tried not to blame martinez when everyone else slated him after games like bournemouth and chelsea last year, it was mainly down to the personality of the players.

What? If Martinez went around blaming everyone under the sun but himself then yeah. But that wasn't his approach.

He chose positivity which was so welcomed when he first arrived.

He literally blamed the fans last season...

Koeman admitted responsibility. He wasn't blaming the defeat on the transfers.

What he was saying is that he expects the board to step up and do their jobs.
