Gambling has taken a lot of good players down. Think it was Andy King, who suffered from it, put it rather well when he said that with the ale, you go in a pub with £100, get bladdered, still have £50. Go in a bookies with £10k, you lose the lot.

I was always fond of a bet. Still am, in fact but not as much these days.

And I always said sommat similiar.

A man can only drink so much then he keels over.

But with gambling you can keep going until the last penny is gone

Aye, I am pretty fast and loose with health, diets and that, but thankfully have never been bitten by the gambling bug.

Dont mind a flutter on a rare day at the races, but thats my lot. It scares me a bit.

Anyrate, Koeman on a watching brief it feels like.

Yip.

Nothing about this set up feels long term and it is worrying me.

I dont want his version of honesty - the one where he claims fitness levels going up and defensive solidity since he arrived. It's BS.

This time last season we'd scored 24, conceded 16, and had 20 points; this season we've scored 16, conceded 15, and have 19 points....a better start under a manager who couldn't do the basics like organize and practice corners or set up to defend. Kpoeman has vome in to improve us. THAT isn't improving us really is it?

Less time yapping about his 'improvements' since he's been here (5 months), less time telling the players they're not up to it, and more time coaching.

Dave.....you need to stop posting these inconvenient truths

It is not right that you keep pointing out the King is in the altogether when many of our friends are happier admiring our new cloak of "defensive stability".

Just stoppitt, y' heah :whip:

Sorry to gegg in on the man love here, but if those stats are true Dave, which I have no reason to doubt then I'd put it to you two that then means if we were on 20 points from 13 games (which was more than acceptable last year :coffee:) then it means we only got 24 point from the next 24 games, which is woeful.

Also Khal you ain't no sage of the beautiful game it wasn't so long ago you were saying this about Martinez

Dunno if its the time of year, me working hard, or the cold weather. But I just feel the team look old, static, and dull.

The wall of silence on anything but cladding and the development of L4 doesnt help.

Most disconnected from the team and club I have felt for a long time.

And Koemans demeanour doesnt exactly float my boat atm.

Poor results coupled with the doom and gloom from certain sections of the forum Ray.

I cant help with the results, but the doom and gloom can be lifted with 3 or 4 thread bans.

Bit of Roydo rage?

haha! Maybe.

But I just have this feeling that at the exact same time that a Billionaire pops up, Sky lob Billions at everyone anyrate.

The United/Neymar "story" of a £180m deal, Bale with a £1 Billion buy out clause, (allegedly).

Everton that.

That moment when Bill turned down the City owners Ray.

You see, what you see there Ian is a man whom judges things as he sees them and does not have his views set in concrete.

Note the date of that post.....it was at the end of Black December when things were looking ever so glum round these parts.

Now, Dave's stats in his post deal specifically with the first 13 games of last season.....which was a heck of an improvement on the previous December and the football on offer from EFC was a heck of a lot better twelve months ago than what we have witnessed in the first 13 games of this season, innit

And I posted accordingly this time last year :)

I know you spend a lot of time looking through my posts so I am not telling you sommat you don't know.....you are just being a wee divil and selectively quoting a post in order to boost a rather spurious argument :p

Try and be more like me.

Judge things as you see them......not as you wish them to be.

Though I do notice you are indeed becoming a bit concerned about the direction Koeman is taking us as you have started becoming quite critical of him.

And that is not a sign of fickleness, Ian......that does you great credit.

You are maturing as a poster and I like that.

:)

*big manly hug*

;)
