So you want minimum three good to go first team contenders in January, regardless of outgoings...and if there are outgoings then four or five in January?

I want 3 players that will give us options in the CM, ACM and ST role.

If we have to sell "deadwood" to sign them, so be it, the squad on the whole is rammed, we need to shift utter tosh that have no future, Mori, Gibson, Niasse, Kone, The Clev, Lukaku, Geri, McCarthy can all go to fund incomings.

£7m a year to not even change the formation about after two losing seasons.

Absolutely going through the motions isn't he?

we sold 1 in the summer and signed 4 first team players, you seem very eager to point at der net spend, in this market, it means naff all.

The squad needs rebuilding, we lost 4 first team players in the Summer and certain areas need improving

You contradict your point in the very next sentence.

Also...Valencia is first-team? To be fair, neither were the 4 players we lost by that time. They were old and knackered, ideally best replaced by youth, but their peak quality needed replacing with top-$ signings if we want top 6.

What we needed in the summer was more quality. Ultimately we needed to sign players who are better than Osman, Pienaar and Howard were at their peak. This costs money and a clever window would've thus resulted in more spend (with potentially better league performances).

Our like-for-like looks like this:

Howard - Stek (will Stek go on to be better than Howard at his peak? Not likely)
Osman - Gana (Leon was fine, but Gana is looking better)
Pienaar - Bolasie (jury's out if Bolasie can reach the effective heights of Pienaar)
Stones - Williams (we like Ashley and need him, he's arguably an upgrade in the short-term...tho' Stones is looking tasty longer-term)
Hibbert - Valencia (not like-for-like, but Tony has almost 300 games under his belt mostly while we were a top 6 club. Valencia looks useless)

In my opinion we've not moved forward this transfer window, and we only began to spend money once we received money from player sales. Our actions in the transfer window betray mid-table contentment, not the actions of an ambitious Europe-chasing club.

in your opinion, mate.

to most observers it looked like we didn't have any transfer funds.

It's not my opinion though. It's been backed by comments from the manager, major shareholder and agents in the press, and to me personally by major shareholders, former players and prominent members of the press.

What other formation can he pick?

A front 3 of Lukaku, Valencia and Kone?

Its not 2 late mein frandel, jump on the winning team, Team Ronny.

I think he should drop Bolasie, put Barkley on the left, Lennon on the right, Mirallas and Lukaku up front Fidel Frandelino . Just for a change, just so it was honest for once he wasn't texting the Dutch for "same again" to young Edwin while he is on the golf course

He already got 18 in this morning mon frandel.

These are comments which help people form an opinion. We have no official statement from the club we actually bid for anyone like Mata, Witsel and the rest. The most the club website has revealed is a section on "what the papers say" which is a roundup of transfer rumours and always come with the following disclaimer:

"The views on this page are taken from the local and national media and do not necessarily reflect the views of Everton."

So this statement of yours:
Lack of financial backing was not the reason for the deficiencies of the summer window.

is not a fact, rather it's an opinion. An informed opinion if you like, but an opinion nonetheless.

Think he has strengthened our starting 11 undoubtedly with Williams and Gana. Jury still out on bolasie. Has he improved any other players? Maybe rom, but I'm struggling to think of any others. Maybe the squad he inherited just isn't as talented as we thought it was.

It was 3 years ago that Martinez inherited a strong team. I think we still hang onto that notion but 3 years and bad management has erased all of that. Ironically we probably have our best striker in the prem era but as ye said its not as talented as once thought but it was before. We need an overhaul.

Is it Koemans fault we cannot attract a certain level of player, because we can't offer European football? Is it his fault that we have a large part of the squad that are simply not good enough?

It's his fault for not trusting in Youth, with the likes of Holgate and Davies who really should be in the team before Mori and McCarthy.
