You dont have any chance on keeping a player when he refuses to sign a contract no matter how much the club and fans want him to.

It was two years ago and transfer valuations have gone even more silly since then, so it’s not an objective comparison.

Still, I do feel we could have gone a little higher at the time, but hey ho.
