That's a much fairer assessment, with respect I don't agree with it still and I think discounting the PSG game is an incredibly harsh attempt to keep the big games theory going. Also I would say equally when he goes through anything resembling a tough patch this thread is alive and kicking with lads delighted to point out his struggles.
I was expecting to have to wait another week to get after him again, what with Arsenal's clown college defence, but he really is spoiling me this season.

Without wanting to get into the finer details of your debate, I do feel that when it comes to footballing aspects they both should be respected - to an extent.

Yes you could rightfully say that neither are managing at a high level - well far from it to be fair - but they played at the highest level with the best calibre of player.

The stuff they're saying is neither new or controversial either: it was mentioned regularly when he was here and I am sure it will continue to be mentioned.

Personally, I feel that he's a great finisher but not an amazing footballer. At some clubs (us) that is often enough and he'll be happily lauded for his rate of goals.

Whereas, at other clubs the expectations and requirements are perhaps different, if not higher. I'd have him back here every day of the week, but they want better.

I can’t even remember writing my post mate.

Sounds like he wants out already which is predictable. He is not the future for utd, too limited a player. I'd have him back here in a heart beat but no chance of that.

Cart will probably end up 'dominating' the Chinese league within two years. To be fair, I'd do it for half a million after tax under those circumstances.
