As for 4k calories, a professional footballer training every day I'd assume 4k calories would be the bare minimum for a player of Lukaku's size, I eat around that when I'm training and all I do is pick weights up and put them back down again.

As for 'he's fat', I disagree. He has put some meat on but I dont think he's fat. YET.


I went to watch sale sharks train at our place of work.... calories were tightly monitored obviously depending on the position. Sheridan who is an absolute beast was eating less than the average person in the cafe.... high protein, complex carbs loads of water. That was after training but yeah he would have had a 40g protein shake too. Probably eats 6 or 7 times a day but 4000 calories? I'm not sure.

Either way I can't imagine it would be a great enough surplus for significant hypertrophy.

Interesting debate though.
 
Hes being managed by an ex striker now a good one at that .. low and behold he's nowhere near the starting 11.

He has missed games on compassionate leave, and United are in a small run of really good form.

That said, I cant disagree with your analysis.
